專訪中，洪秀柱詳細陳述兩岸「主權互相重疊、治權互相承認」的觀點。她表示，對岸宣示的主權和我們宣示的主權是重疊的，因為對岸包含我們，我們也包含對岸；至於治權，她希望互相承認，「你管中國大陸，我管台澎金馬」，「這就是正視中華民國的存在，正視這個憲政政府的存在」。

    洪秀柱強調，雖有意爭取連任， 但她是現任黨主席，現在最重要的是做好分內工作，不是每一步都為了競選連任。

    被問到黨產，洪秀柱也說明去年底和行政院黨產會洽談行政契約破局原因。她表示，當時是要徵得立院黨團、中常會和前黨主席等大老都同意，「我擔不起這個責任啊！我能簽字嗎？」洪也一再肯定副主席詹啟賢的忍辱負重，以及他為解國民黨燃眉之急做出的無私貢獻和努力。

    面對黨內積極勸進前副總統吳敦義、副主席郝龍斌參選黨主席，胡志強、詹啟賢也被點名，洪秀柱表示，誰要參選都歡迎，但要「真正把黨的未來當成你的真正使命才可以，而不是有其他的企圖」。
